My first-year final film was selected for the Lift-Off Network in London 2026. This selection represented an important milestone in my early career, as it recognized the work I had developed throughout my first year of film studies. It was a valuable opportunity to showcase my project on an international platform and to reach a wider audience beyond my school environment. This experience motivated me to continue improving my storytelling and technical skills, and strengthened my desire to pursue work in the film industry.
The Anguished Girl - My first 7 minutes
The Anguished Girl is my first short film as a director, lasting 7 minutes. It was created as part of the final project of my first year of film studies. This experience marked my first step into directing, allowing me to explore storytelling, visual composition, and working with a small crew. It was an important learning process that helped me develop both my creative vision and my technical understanding of filmmaking.
The Synopsis of the short film
Set in the 1950s, a young painter attempts to create the ultimate work of art: a canvas capable of containing her soul and embodying an unreachable form of perfection.
Haunted by a traumatic past under the guidance of her former painting teacher—an obsessive figure who believed in perfection and saw her as its potential vessel—she remains deeply affected by his influence and expectations.
In the present, her artistic process gradually turns into an inward descent. Fractured memories, intrusive recollections, and psychological unraveling blur the line between creation and collapse. Painting becomes an all-consuming act where body, mind, and artwork begin to merge.
As her pursuit of perfection intensifies, the canvas transforms into both sanctuary and prison, raising a haunting question about the boundary between artistic genius, obsession, and self-destruction.
